Any true couponer knows that there is nothing quite as rewarding as going through the check-out line at the grocery store to watch your savings emerge.   On the other hand, there is nothing so frustrating as going to the check-out line to watch all of your hard work and prepartion vanish into “coupon air” all because you weren’t aware of ALL of a particular store’s coupon policies.   It’s helpful to be familiar with individual store coupon  policies so that your couponing experiences are positive.

Below we have provided you with Safeway’s coupon policy.

Coupon Policy:

  • Only printed coupons with properly rendered barcode that will scan at register are accepted.
  • “FREE” coupons that do not require a purchase are not accepted.  Only buy-one-get-one-free coupons that have a purchase requirement will be accepted.
  • Coupons will not be accepted for more than 50% of products value.
  • Poorly printed coupons will not be accepted (ie. if they appear to be copied, altered, or are blurry – in any way).
  • Printable coupons may not be copied, scanned, sold, traded, or distributed to others, and they are non-transferable.

The more informed you are as a consumer the your purchasing experience will be for both you and the cashier.  It may be a good idea also to keep a printed copy of these guidelines with your coupons as there are many store policies to remember.   “A well informed couponer is a successful one!”
