With regards to the price matching policy, Target has updated it and to give you a clearer view. They call it their Low Price Promise

The Low Price Promise policy basically states that if your local store has an ad that is current and features a product for a price lower than that at Target, then they will meet that low price.  Aside from the competitor’s ad being local and current, the only other guideline is that the product has to be exactly the same, meaning it is of the same brand, name and model number.  It’s really quite simple, and a great deal; however, when coupons are brought into the picture, things can get messy.  So you can better understand what to expect at checkout in regards to the use of coupons with the Low Price Promise, below is their policy.

Target Low Price Promise Policy:

  • Application of manufacturer coupons will take place following a price match
  • In contrary to the manufacturer coupon, the application of Target coupons will be prior to the price match. Upon assessing and seeing that the competitor price is lesser than the price when the Target coupon has been applied, an adjustment shall be made to match the price of the competitor’s.
  • When both Target coupons and manufacturer coupons are being used, Price matching is made after the Target coupon has been deducted. After which, when the price of the competitor price remains to be lesser than the deducted price, an ad match is done to match the price of the competitor. When all these have been done and once prices match, it is at that time when the manufacturer coupon is then applied.
