Publix Coupon Policy

Know the coupon policy at Publix and coupon with confidence! Read through the policy and print one up to have with you for reference, Publix is a great store to coupon at!

This is the official Publix coupon policy from the Publix website.

What Types of Coupons Does Publix Accept?

  • Manufacturer’s coupons, Publix coupons, Internet coupons, and coupons from nearby competitors (a list of which are posted at each Publix store).
  • Coupons from competing pharmacies for prescriptions only.

Acceptance Guidelines:

  • Acceptance is subject to any restrictions on the coupon.
  • We only accept coupons for identical items we sell.
  • We only accept a manufacturer’s coupon and either a Publix or a competitor’s coupon on the same item. Maximum of two coupons per item.
  • Manufacturer’s digital offers cannot be combined with manufacturer’s paper coupons on the purchase of the same item.
  • We do not accept percent-off-items or percent-off-total-order coupons.
  • We do not accept coupons that Publix determines to be printed incorrectly. For example, a coupon missing a size requirement or other standard coupon details.
  • We do not accept coupons presented via a mobile phone or device.
  • We do not accept coupons that appear to be copied. All coupons must be originals.
  • For a buy-one-get-one-free (BOGO) offer, each item is considered a separate purchase.
  • We limit coupon redemption to eight of the same coupons per day, per household.
  • Manager’s approval is needed for individual coupons above $5.
  • Dollars-off-total-order coupons will be limited to one Publix and one competitor’s coupon per day, per household. The total order before coupons must be equal to or greater than the combined purchase requirements indicated on the coupon(s) presented. We consider competitor’s coupons for dollars off groups of items to be a dollars-off-total-order coupon and will only allow one per day, per household.
  • Money due back to the customer at the end of a transaction involving coupons will only be provided on a Publix gift card.

Publix management teams will only issue rain checks for items which are advertised outside the store at a reduced retail. For example, on radio or TV, or in our weekly ad, co-op ad, mailer, or Internet site.

  • We will only issue one rain check, per day, per household for an item.
  • We will not issue rain checks for Publix, competitor’s, or manufacturer’s coupons.

Publix

Publix 101: Ways to Save

Publix is a very popular grocery chain in the Southeastern US, and is an excellent store to shop at using coupons. Publix can be found in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and Florida. They have lots of store coupons, most locations accept competitor coupon and they double coupons that are $0.50 or under! They also have awesome Buy One Get One sales and Mystery Penny Items each week.  *Note – Florida stores do not double coupons, accept competitor coupons or have penny item deals. For more details see below:

Coupons Accepted at Publix

Printable Coupons: Publix accepts printable coupons but not if the printable exceeds $5 for a free item.

Manufacturer Newspaper Coupons: These coupons are found in your newpaper and include inserts such as: Smart Source, Red Plum and Procter & Gamble.

Publix Store Coupons: Publix has a lot of store coupons which can be stacked with manufacturer coupons (unless restrictions are listed on the coupon).

How to find Publix store coupons:

  • 1. Publix Advantage Buy Fliers – Published monthly and include both manufacturer and store coupons. Can be found at the entrance of the store but are available in limited quantities.
  • 2. Promotional Coupon Booklets – Found throughout the storeand near the entrance of the store.
  • 3. In-Ad Coupons – These come out in the weekly store ads.
  • 4. Magazines – Publix issues four different magazines, published several times annually. They are FamilyStyle, Green Wise Market Magazine, Publix Grape Magazine, and Publix Pet Program. You can request yours by following any of the links.

Competitor coupons: Publix does accept competitor coupons at most locations (all of Florida does not). Check with your local store to be sure. A list of competitors whose coupons they will accept is posted in the Customer Service area of each store. If you use a competitor coupon, you can stack a competitor and manufacturer coupon together – but not a competitor and store coupon.

Other Reasons To Shop and Save at Publix

Buy One Get One Sale: Publix is popular for their Buy One Get One sale pricing as well. The products ring up as half off so you don’t actually have to buy two. You can use two manufacturer coupons for these sales when buying two items (one mfr. coupon per item) and can also use a store coupon if available. *Note: Florida stores ring up with true BOGO sale pricing so you must buy both items in order to get the deal.

Publix Penny Item: Publix offers a new “Mystery Penny Item” for $0.01 on the first day of each new ad week. (Check the Thursday ad in Alabama, most of Georgia and Tennessee, and South Carolina – but not in Florida.) To redeem the penny item offer you must spend $10 on your shopping order (on grocery products) before coupons. You will then present your Penny Item coupon (found in the newspaper the day of the new ad week) and the item (which rings up as regular price) will be reduced down to the cost of one penny! Generally this is a “one per customer” deal.

Double Coupons: Publix doubles any manufacturer coupon valued up to $0.50 any day of the week. There are no limits on how many coupons they will double during a transaction. There are only restrictions on this policy if the coupon itself states it. *Note: Stores located in Florida stores do not participate in double coupons.

I like Publix very much, fortunately it's the closest grocer to my house but it is still preferred over the other options in my county. Usually very friendly and they have the best policies! By any chance can anyone tell me where in the paper/flier the mystery penny item is listed?

Publix is always clean and organized. I love the fact that I get the weekly flyer via email and can make up my shopping list from there. The list tells you where, what aisle, each and every item is located and prints out in order. This keeps me from having to backtrack to find something I forgot. The staff is always helpful which makes for a delightful shopping experience. BOGO plus coupons is also a great money saver. The bakery & produce are the best around

Publix is always a very nice and clean store. All shelves are completely stocked every time I arrive. They have great BOGO deals which are the buy 1 get 1 free. Then if you have coupons it's even better. The staff are always so nice and helpful. They seem to really care that you have a good shopping experience.

The staff are extremely helpful. The store is always clean. The coupon policy is one of the best, allowing competitors coupons. Publix not only has a weekly circular but additional monthly circulars and the shelves are clearly marked with the coupon savings. It is a pleasure to shop in Publix.
