Starting from humble beginnings in the Midwest in 1915, Safeway is still providing the ingredients for life at a low cost. Safeway is located in major cities and suburbs and makes it convenient to pick-up the freshest meat and produce selections by being available in-store, on-line, and offering both physical coupons and online codes for added ease. Like most grocery stores, they offer a long list of recipes for every diet, but they go a step further providing nutritional articles, educating their consumers how to eat healthy and what ingredients and properties comprise healthy foods. Safeway even clearly stamps foods that are healthy such as “whole-wheat” products to make label-reading easier. Safeway not only wants you to know how to eat healthy and be healthy, they also want to make it easier to choose healthy foods, by providing budget-friendly foods, and offering promotions and coupons. We have the low-down below!
Save on your favorite brands when you shop the top deals at Safeway and use coupons. There are some nice deals to stock up on cereal, snacks and more. Stretch your budget by shopping with coupons.

Combine Safeway's weekly ad with these popular manufacturer coupons to save even more money at checkout!
Any true couponer knows that there is nothing quite as rewarding as going through the check-out line at the grocery store to watch your savings emerge. On the other hand, there is nothing so frustrating as going to the check-out line to watch all of your hard work and prepartion vanish into “coupon air” all because you weren’t aware of ALL of a particular store’s coupon policies. It’s helpful to be familiar with individual store coupon policies so that your couponing experiences are positive. Below we have provided you with Safeway’s coupon policy.
1. We will redeem coupons only for the specific items included in our customer’s purchase transaction. The redemption value will be as stated on the coupon, unless that value yields a final price for such item less than zero; if application of the redemption value yields a price less than zero, the coupon will be redeemed only for the amount that yields a zero price (our customer cannot net a cash credit or payout from a coupon purchase).
2. Paper coupons must be presented at the time of the purchase transaction. We will accept only coupons issued by Safeway or the manufacturer of the relevant product. We will not accept photocopies of coupons.
Safeway is a large chain of stores that offers great opportunities to save. Stores may offer regional sales or deals but many savings are available at most subsidiaries of Safeway. Each week we do an ad match-up with a weekly ad to showcase the best deals for Safeway shoppers. If you shop at Safeway, check out these great tips to help you save!
JustforU is a great way to save at Safeway and it’s FREE to sign up. This is an incentive program that consists of two parts:
Stacking Coupons is another way to save at Safeway. Like many grocery stores, you can stack a manufacturer’s coupon with a store coupon for extra savings, one of each per item. This can make for some great deals! Personalized prices are not considered coupons so you can stack with those prices and get some really cheap groceries. I’ve been able to pick up some great deals by stacking on a personalized price, sometimes making the item FREE!
Many stores affiliated with Safeway participate in the gas rewards program. There are a lot of benefits and perks with this program, including opportunities to earn bonus rewards to earn rewards more quickly. With this program you can save up to $0.20 per gallon on gas from Mobile and Exxon and up to $1 off at Safeway gas stations.
Check your store for a clearance section to save. Many stores offer clearance in a set area so I always swing by it before I leave the store. You can find seasonal items, items that just may not have sold well or are close to an expiration date and more. You can pair these items with coupons for great savings.
You can always get help from a manager at the store but if you need further assistance, you can call the toll-free help line at 877-723-3929. I have also had to get JustforU assistance at the Customer Service area in the store and they will call a number to straighten it out for you so you can utilize that service as well.
