Coupon Tip: Always Read Fine Print
Coupons can be overwhelming, whether you are new to coupons or an old veteran. Coupons are constantly changing and stores are adding new types of coupons or incentive programs on a regular basis so it’s hard to stay on top of all the going-ons. One of my best coupon tips for new couponers (or old!) is to always read the fine print on any coupon.
There are MANY different specifications that a coupon can have and stores want to make sure that they are following the letter of the law with these so I’ve noticed many cashiers reading them more closely too. Plus, you always want to make sure that you are using them properly and within the bounds of the law so you don’t get in trouble.
Outside of the basics- expiration dates and language that specifies what the coupon can be used toward- you may find limits on how many of the same coupons can be used in a transaction, limits per transaction or purchase or more fine print. Read them carefully and we will try and mention any specific limits in our matchups when they arise!
