Coupon Tip: The Double Bump
Okay, that is not an official term but it is my own little name for getting double rewards, savings or points for a purchase. You can stack savings like you stack coupons to save even more money. Anytime I buy something, I want to get the most savings, perks or points possible.
Here is an example of what I am talking about:
I love Starbucks. When I use my Starbucks Rewards card to buy drinks, I earn points. Those points add up to earn free drinks. To add money to my Starbucks rewards card, I use my Discover card where I earn cash back. When I go to Starbucks, I usually get the promo items. Right now they have a BOGO Starbucks deal going on. I also am saving stickers to earn a free holiday drink. So, my purchase has a lot of incentives and savings with all these combinations. Where I purchase two peppermint mochas with the deal, I get points on my Starbucks card, two stickers towards a free drink and 1/2 price drinks with the deal!
Doing this helps to stretch your dollar a little further! This is also the case when you use loyalty cards that earn you points like Balance Rewards at Walgreens or a store card with incentives like the Target Red Card. All these little savings can add up for bigger savings when you take them all into consideration!
