Double Couponing in New Mexico
Written by Alex Bach
Double coupons, the fantastic savings phenomenon of bringing in a coupon and having the store double the discount at the register, is the latest tool a smart grocery shopper can use. As such, they are the talk of the couponing community and finding a nearby store that accepts double coupons is often celebrated with "Jackpot!" among couponers.
Because of the savings and the drop in profit from the grocery stores, taking the hit on their end, doubled coupons usually only fall within denominations of $0.99 or less. However, the savings from these coupons, when doubled, can potentially save you far more money than many coupons only offering $1.00 off.
And while stores that double coupons are great, this doesn't necessarily mean that double couponing stores are always near by.
Here are the Double Couponing Options for The State of New Mexico
Major Chains in New Mexico:
- IGA is the only major chain in New Mexico that offers double coupons, but as the individual store chooses which couponing programs it will follow, not all stores doubling policies are the same. Check with your local IGA to see what they accept.
For Albuquerque and Santa Fe:
- Smith's occasionally will offer double coupon savings but they rely primarily on digital couponing through their rewards program. Joining the rewards program will help you save and might even offer comparable savings to doubling programs.
- Albertsons coupon policies are individual to each store and the policies are posted at each store's register; so not every Albertson's will double coupons but some will. Check with your local Albertsons to see if they offer double couponing.
Unfortunately, double couponing isn't more popular in New Mexico grocery stores, but that doesn't mean double couponing isn't there. Check with your local stores and see if they have a double coupon policy or a certain day or time period where they'll accept them.
