Help Military Families with Expired Coupons

No more recycling expired coupons! Did you know that military families stationed overseas can use coupons for up to six months after they expire?  I have been researching this program, Coupons to Troops, and am going to start sending them my expired coupons.  There are a few restrictions and coupons must be sorted into food and non-food catergories. Please label each bundle before you send them, after they are separated!

What can I send?

  • Send only Manufacturer Coupons; Do NOT send store or restaurant coupons.
  • Pleas do NOT send coupons that are over 30 days expired. This is so that the military families have time to use the coupons as it can take some time to get there.

Military families can shop at two stores- one is more food (Commisary) and one is more like a department store (PX or BX) so the sorting helps speed up the process once the coupons arrive.

If you don’t want to adopt a base on your own and send packages, you can relay through the volunteer below.  Amanda puts together packages and mails them each month for overseas shipments which saves a lot of time and hassle since you don’t have to go to the post office, fill out the customs form or pay for shipping.  If you prefer to adopt a base on your own and send your own packages, you can do so as well at the main website for Coupons to Troops.

Another option for sending expired coupons overseas is to adopt a family through CouponsToTroops. (www.facebook.com/CouponsToTroops) There’s a few advantages to sending coupons DIRECTLY to a family – they receive the coupons faster which means they can use them quicker and also you get the chance to have one-on-one contact, finding out what they can use and also receiving acknowledgement when they receive your coupons. To adopt a family of your own, you can visit our facebook page and click on the Adopt a Family tab or you can simply send an email to admin@couponstotroops.com.
