Sometimes, multiple coupons are available for use on the same item. Using this technique is called "Coupon Stacking," and it is a valuable method for increasing the money you save with your couponing efforts. Once you've found your stacking opportunities, the following steps will help you make the most of them.
Combining manufacturer coupons with store coupons can result in incredible savings. Be sure that the coupons you attempt to stack are of each type. You can't stack two store coupons, or two manufacturer coupons. If you are prepared and lucky, however, you can use stacked coupons on an item already at a sale price, and save even more.
If you're unsure which type of coupon you have, a close look at the coupon itself will allow you to identify it. Try to find "manufacturer coupon" or "store coupon" printed somewhere on the coupon if the source of the coupon doesn't make the type clear.
Store coupons can be found in several places. Weekly ads from the newspaper and in-store coupon booklets provide paper coupons for each location. Many stores also provide coupons that can be printed from their websites. Some, like Target, even have mobile apps that include coupons that can be scanned at the register directly from your smartphone.
One great source for manufacturer coupons is GroceryCouponNetwork.com. The manufacturer coupons here are easy to browse through, are updated regularly, and are easily printable from your computer. And, if there is a stacking opportunity out there, you can easily get the details from our store pages.
Once you have established that you do, in fact, have a store coupon and a manufacturer coupon for the exact same item, just take them both to the store and present them the same way you would individually. Be sure to organize your coupons properly, so you can easily find both coupons when you need them. It's even possible--if you've found two BOGO coupons--that the additional coupon will result in you getting the item for free.
