Walgreens stocks a large variety of home and grocery items, and they offer quite a few ways to save on them.
Understanding how to combine rewards programs with coupons and sales at Walgreens can get you the products you love for less.
While GroceryCouponNetwork will always alert you to great deals at Walgreens, an understanding of the available discounts will help to keep you from missing out on any opportunities to save.
Walgreens offers a number of coupons for the items in their stores, and they can be found in several places. Knowing where to find them will let you maximize your savings.
You can find some Walgreens store coupons in your Sunday newspaper, with changes every week. As always, check the terms and expiration dates for every coupon, and use this knowledge to apply the coupon at the right time.
Walgreens also offers coupons in their Monthly Savings Booklet, which can be found in the store itself.
The coupons inside are called 'Instant Value Coupons' (or IVCs) and they differ from the weekly offers you find in your Sunday inserts.
Wherever you find your Walgreens store coupons, remember that they can be stacked with manufacturer coupons to increase your savings. And because IVCs are free and available in the store, you can continue to stock up on them and save several times on the same items.
Walgreens Register Rewards (or Register Reward) program offers you dollar-off coupons at checkout for you to use on your next purchase. The items eligible to earn you Register Rewards will be indicated in the Walgreens weekly ad, along with sales and store coupons.
Your Register Rewards print at the register when you make your purchase, you only need to save them until your next shopping trip. Keep in mind that these discounts may be calculated into the final prices for deals you see on our blog, though you receive the indicated discount at a later time.
You will only receive one Register Reward per transaction for each different eligible item, so remember this if you plan to purchase multiples of the same item.
You can use your Register Rewards to purchase other Register Reward eligible items on your next purchase, but you will not receive another Register Reward if you only purchase the same item that earned you the reward.
You can combine your Register Reward's with both store and manufacturer coupons when you redeem them, but Walgreens considers each Register Reward a manufacturer coupon so be sure to count your items.
You will need to purchase at least as many eligible items as you have manufacturer coupons to receive the discount for each.
Look for inexpensive filler items if you need to increase the total number of items in your purchase in order to use all of your coupons.
Think about inexpensive items that you would need to buy anyway, like envelopes or small food purchases, and add just enough of them to get to your required total number of items.
